IN-HAND JUDGES ANNOUNCEMENT 
The committee of The ‘Connemara Pony Show-Clifden’ wishes to announce its selection and appointment of the following six judges, from the CPBS-approved panel of judges, for the in-hand classes on Wednesday 20th August 2025:
– Joe McNamara
– Noel Nee
– Phillip Morgan
– Denise Norton
– Claire Oakes
The selection of these judges followed the consideration of a number of factors including geographic spread, relevant judging experience, if/when they had previously judged in Clifden and gender balance, among other aspects.
It is also worth noting that over 50% of the judges on the CPBS panel are located in Co. Galway.
These six judges will be supplemented with the addition of one international judge and this will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
The pairing of in-hand judges and the allocation of these pairings to classes will take place at a later point.
The committee of the ‘Connemara Pony Show -Clifden’ will be announcing the appointment of judges for ridden and performance classes in the weeks ahead.
The ‘Connemara Pony Show-Clifden’ committee consists of Mary Coyne (Chair), John Sweeney, Karen Mannion, Terence O’Toole, Cllr. Eileen Mannion and Cllr. Gerry King.
As the selection and appointment of judges is at the sole discretion of this committee, ponies owned by committee members or their families will not be permitted entry to participate in the 2025 Show.
